Resources for Kids During Social Distancing

We’ve found many websites, activities, and e-learning opportunities available for kids whose schools have shut down. This list is provided to help anyone who is looking for FREE activities and academic help for their children to help keep them busy and cope with the current situation. Check out the great work they’re doing if you need help, or if you are looking for ways to get involved. We are continuously updating this list, as we learn more. Spectrum: Free broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days

  • For households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum subscription.
  • To enroll, call Spectrum at 844-488-8395. Officials say installation fees will be waived for new student households.

  • Jeffersonville Township Public Library
  • Louisville Free Public Library
    • Will grant library cards online during closure
    • Restrictions due to overdue fines and replacement fees are lifted
    • Expired and soon-to-be-expired cards extended until June 1
    • All holds extended to 21 days
    • Do not try to return books at this time!
    • Free research tools across a wide variety of subjects
  • New Albany/Floyd County Library
  • Bullitt County Public Libraries
    • They invite you to explore the digital collection. The library offers e-books, e-audiobooks, streaming movies and television, and digital magazines that you can access from home or wherever you feel safe.
    • You may also visit one of their 24 Hour Library machines, located at Ridgway Memorial Library and the new Nichols branch. These automated machines provide access to physical books, DVDs, Blu-rays, and audiobooks 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
